Hi, i just have XE-A102, and im totally mad about it :( (coz im a newbie with it)
I cant understand in every explanations and samples in all its manuals.
I just wanna setup a simple database, no tax at all and no secret code.
Heres the lists :
- 21 item of drinks
- 14 item of takeaway foods (boxed food)
- 20 item of portion foods
- 13 item of softfoods

Ive tried to set it up like this. Ive programmed each list to :
- 21 item of drinks to 1-21 plu's and dept 1
- 14 item of takeaway foods (boxed food) to 1-14 plu's and dept 2
- 20 item of portion foods to 1-20 plu's and dept 3
- 13 item of softfoods to 1-13 plu's and dept 4
The synthax ive used like this :
(1) -> plu -> price -> dept 1 ------ the display went to 02 so ive entered the next price to its dept. Ive entered it all one by one.
But.....
The printout wasn't show all the synthax ive entered. Its just showed some of dept 4 and some of dept 3, some, its just some, not all part of dept 4 nor dept 3, the dept 1 and 2 wasn't showed up at all.

So, anyone can provide me all the best solutions of my problem ? Pleaseee...
Thanks....

Hi,

I'm not sure I'm following you correcty, are you saying that you programmed PLU numbers 1 to 21 for your drinks, then you programmed PLU numbers 1 to 14 for your Takeaway items?
If you are then that is where you are going wrong because you are just overwriting the drink PLUs when you add the takeaway PLUs. PLUs numbers are unique so there can only be 1 PLU number 1.
What you would need to do is use something like:
PLUs 1 to 25 for your Drinks
PLUs 26 to 40 for your Takeaway
41 to 65 for your Portion Foods
66 to 80 for your Soft Foods

I hope this helps shed some light on it.

Regards

Nemesis

Point 1.) This is what i mean :)
Point 2.) So, the prices goes to only one dept ???
3). What should i do are (1) -> plu -> price, (2) -> plu -> price, etc then ST ????
4). If that so, how can i use each part (21 items, 14 items, etc) to work with separated dept ???

Sorry, all my question maybe too noob. But, i am .... :)
Thanks.

Hi,

You can still have your PLUs linked to the departments as you want to, but you can only use each PLU number once, you will use the procedure you used in the first place (1) -> plu -> price -> Dept Key

So what you would need to do is:
(1 to 25) -> plu -> price -> dept 1 (So PLU numbers 1 to 25 are used for Drinks)

Then use the similar procedure but use codes 26 to 40 and link them to department 2, so:
(26 to 40) -> plu -> price -> dept 2 (So PLU numbers 26 to 40 are used for Takeaway)

Then:
(41 to 65) -> plu -> price -> dept 3 (So PLU numbers 41 to 65 are used as Portion Foods)

And finally:
(66 to 80) -> plu -> price -> dept 4 (So PLU numbers 66 to 80 are used for Soft Foods)

I hope I have explained this ok, I know it can be difficult to understand. Please ask if you are still unsure. ;)

Good Luck!
