Hello,

I've been trying to connect my laptop to my te2400 via a USB to serial converter. I have been reading through a lot of the threads in this forum and I think I have made a little progress...

I now get error message 198 which tells me the connection is timing out instead of the complete failure to communicate error messages I got at the start.

Can anyone please tell me what I should be doing to make them talk to each other?

check in device manager to ascertain the port number that windows has allocated to your usb device [it tends to change if a different usb port is used on subsequent connections.

I checked the ports but it still kept timing out. I may try getting a new cable as I still couldn't get them connected.

I have given up for now and manually programmed a till and used the CF card to up load to our other till.

I would still like to get the CV22 software working, but will have to wait until after Christmas!

Can you verify that you are using a "Null Modem Cable"
