The initialize code you used will work, but you have set the password for PGM3-PGM6 as (20)

The best code for you at this time is 12500.

So when you do a transaction. ie..
1.00 Dept#1
Hit subtotal
Then Cash/Tend the drawer doesn't open?

Does it give you an Error?

I would Turn key to PGM, press 3, you should see P3 on the screen.
Press zero three times 000 then press Cash/Tend and then Subtotal.

Return key to REG mode and try another transaction.
Kevin

Hi Kevin, I have done as requested.
Code is reset at 12500 - Drawer still does not open!!

When I do PGM 3 and do as you say it reprogams the Cash Button to 0.03p paid each time and you can no longer enter any other cash amount so I have had to change it back to 0.00. When I turn the key to PGM and press 3, I see P03 on the screen each time.

On page 34 of the Dealers Handbook there is a code for the drawer control, the relevant bits that you may need are as follows:

Address Code 04

Allow amount tender in RF/REG- mode a} Yes = 0; No = 2

Cash drawer opening:
1) Immediately when transaction is finalized
2) After validation compulsory is released

b} 1 = 0; 2 = 4

0 + 0 = 0 for D7

I dont know if this could be making any difference to why the drawer is not opening or there another code somewhere else??

As its only plugged into the electric I take it that it cannot be a voltage problem as I have read in other forum messages? There is no printer or anything attached yet.

Thanks

Catherine

I have noticed that the drawer opens automatically when you do a Z reading so it should not be so difficult to sort for those of you that have more experience in this field than me.

I have also tried to format a CF card today (Pgm 7) but even thought there is a brand new card in the slot it wont accept that there is one there and keeps asking to put one in - any ideas?

Thanks very much.

For anyone who reads this the problem turned out to be that the previous owners had 2 cash drawers on this till and it wasnt recognising this cash drawer. The engineer reset it and it now works, there is also a problem with the pins in the slot for the CF card and this has had to be removed, at least now the drawer does function.

Actually that was wrong after paying for a repair, the problem was that a previous owner must have had 2 cash drawers with this till and it kept looking for the drawer which wasnt there so my drawer didnt open. It was reset under a managers function (X) cashier code; drawer number (0 or 2) and pressing the RC button on top. Cant find this method anywhere on the internet so hope it helps someone else. The drawers are assigned to the cashiers codes (0107, 0207, ect).

Hope it helps someone as being a nightmare for me!!!!
