Why is this bit of software so hard to find? I have seen it for sale on the net, when I asked a register repair man about it he said it was free and those trying to sell it were scammers.
He gave me a copy which I have placed in my dropbox. I'm happy to paste a link here if anyone wants it but I thought I should check with the mods here first to see if it's ok to do that. I don't want to do anything contra to the forum rules. Let me know if it's alright or not.

I think the problem is that Casio do not want to support it, so they will NEVER give it away to customers. They supply it to dealers only so that it is not their problem when the customer complains that it won't perform to their expectation. There are usually bugs in every version of it and some features are difficult to use or just don't work at all. The manuals are vague at best. It is often easier and quicker to program specialist tasks on the machine itself. People sell it because they are prepared to give all the help necessary to get it going for the customer. Since you are cruising the forums, sourcing your own cables, setting your own comm ports etc, you are simply doing all the work yourself and hopefully at the end, you have a working piece of software. Do the rest of you agree?

Case in point, has anyone got the memory copy function working in CV10. It saves a file 90 ok, then when I try to restore, there is no data!

A lot of different cash register programs can be found for free if you look around.

I sell it personally as I also offer the support that goes along with it. I enjoy posting on here as much as I can but I also have a lot more other work to do. But if someone purchases any software from myself then I am available for contact by email, phone and for problems I cannot fix I will even contact Sharp or Casio etc for them so I can find the answer.

Its the same with the manuals. Dealers can get hold of many of the manuals in pdf free of charge. However, there are still many websites that choose to sell them.

Sorry, I didn't realise anyone on this forum was selling the program, I didn't mean to sound offensive. I was only repeating what the register repair man told me. I just found it strange that the CV program was mentioned everywhere but getting your hands on it is quite difficult.
