Hi,

I`m a newbie to this site and would welcome your help.

The shop i have recently started my employment with uses a Casio TE 2400 till. There are currently about 900 ish PLU`s defined on the till, all of which were set up with no problems that i have been made aware of. We don`t use the flat PLU method (due to the large number of PLU`s) but instead, for transactions, we simply type in the PLU number relevant to the sale item and the pre-programmed price appears.
A problem has arisen wherby we will be introducing a new stock taking process and as such we will be assigning PLU numbers to new stock items starting with PLU number 4000. From reading the till manual this till should have the ability to store up to 5000 PLU items. Unfortunately when we try and add in PLU 4000 the till simply beeps back at us (no error message is displayed on the till screen).
I`ve got the manual for this till but it isn`t very user friendly (understatement!!). Therefore can anyone take me through the basic steps of setting up a PLU, including the steps needed to enter a name description for a PLU item. Alternatively is anyone aware of any issues with using PLU`s with a large value (i.e 4000), do i need to check for sufficient memory etc etc.
Your help is much appreciated.

Ste.

Hi,

I don`t seem to be having much luck with this post. Can i ask, is there anyone out there who has used a Casio TE-2400 till and who has successfully programmed 1000`s of PLU`s. I just need to know if i am missing a step with the programming of these PLU`s or if my till isn`t capable of accepting them without an upgrade.

Please help if you can.

Hi. for a start, I'd check memory allocation to see how many PLUs have been allowed for in memory.
Turn key to program, press 5 SUBTOTAL SUBTOTAL. Look at the print out and see what number is to the right of file 4
