Hi
I've been using the te2400 in my coffee shop for a couple of years and I'd now like to make use of the tables function. I've bought and downloaded the programming manual from your website but frankly it may as well be written in chinese as I cant make head nor tail of it. So could you give me some tips on how to set up the till to be able to assign a customers tab to a table number, and how then to use the function.........

thanks

Dan

Hi.
It can be complicated if you haven't had training from your dealer, but I'll go over the basics. Page 77 of my manual has the typical check tracking info.
You would normally number your tables and keep a diagram near the register.

While in reg mode,

Type a table number

Press NEW/OLD button (this will open that table to show you its current balance. If it is a new
table, it will have a zero balance).

Now enter the items that the customer is purchasing just like a normal sale (but don't press a payment button at the end)

When you want to store that table away in memory, press NB (new balance) button.

The table is now saved, and you can start serving other customers or open a different table number.

To re-open the table:

Type the table number and press NEW/OLD button again.
Since you have some items stored in that table, the previous balance will be displayed. You can now enter more items to that table if you wish (then press NB to save again), or if they are now paying their bill, just SUBTOTAL the sale as normal, and press a payment type e.g CASH. That will clear the balance for that table so the table is now ready for a new customer.

That's the simplest way to use table tracking. See how you get on.

Hi Mark

Thanks for your helpful response. In the process of programming the various buttons for the new/old check and NB buttons, I programmed a wrong button which was previously a flat plu button. I cant now seem to change the function of this button back to being a flat plu button. Any ideas?

Many thanks

Dan

Oh dear. You should never place functions on top of PLUs without knowing what you are doing. That can be very tricky.

Try this:

Key to program mode.
4 SUBTOTAL
PLU number (e.g if you are setting PLU 20 to that button, type 20 on the number pad)
063
Now press the position that you want to set that PLU to.
SUBTOTAL

If it gives an error, you will have to perform all Z reports related to PLUs and then try programming again. Good luck.
