Hi, new to posting here but have browsed for a few months!

We have a casio tk6500 at my work and in the last few weeks one of the operator keys to sign on changed to a sale key of £1.05. A week later it changed back to operator 1 sign on, and the operator 5 key changed to a sale key instead!

So I got asked to look at the till. I don't have a huge amount of knowledge of reprogramming the till apart from the odd price change. So I tried a couple of things from the manual (that was clear as mud) and couldn't get OP5 to change back into a sign in key.

A few days later and the sub total button no longer works when using the till normally. I went to see how to program it back to normal only to find that the sub total key is one of the few keys that cannot be reprogrammed. Does this sound like the till on the way out or can you actually reprogram the sub total key?! Oh and how can I get back the operator 5 sign in key? :D

Thanks

Can you swop between program levels.. in pgm 2 subtotal = pgm 2 3 sub total - pgm 3 etc...

if so go into pgm 4 press 72 then the clerk button.. sub to save...

it seems the subtotal button works fine for programming so yes, I did as you said and changed it to a clerk key. however when you go into reg1? (i think) and use it to sign on, unlike the other keys that display op1 or op2 it shows ----. If you then try to do something it shows the error e008 which is asking you to sign on as far as I know.

Using the same method as making that a clerk key could I try in PGM 4 to fix the sub total button by doing PGM 4 75 subtotal subtotal?

If I understand the manual correctly it says the sub total button cannot be overriden but if it has been would this fix it?

if you can swop between pgm levels then teh sub total is fine..

to sort clerk button

Step 1 turned to X and sign on with another clerk that is working
Step 2 Enter Clerk Number ie if its clerk 5 thats not working press "5"
Step 3 Press Clerk Button
Step 4 Repeat Steps 2-3 for Clerk 1 again
Step 5 Repeat Steps 2-3 for each clerk button you wish to setup
Step 6 Press SUBTOTAL to save

Thanks for all your help so far, I'll try out the clerk fix later or tomorrow.

The sub total button works fine in different modes such as pgm but when doing sales it doesn't work as a sub total button. As if it has been programmed to do a different function in that mode but I am not sure what!
