So, I've just programmed my Sharp UP-700 and right at the end I must have pressed something while moving it or whatnot because I can't press anything without "Clerk not Assigned" coming up.

Everywhere I've looked as a solution to this problem it says to either simply insert a clerk key or enter a clerk number and press the clerk # button.

1st - inserting the clerk key doesn't seem to work even though a clerk number appears on the screen.
2nd - I would try the other way of entering a clerk number and pressing the clerk # button but I can't find said button!

Is there any way to find out which key is the clerk button? And why wouldn't the actual clerk Key work anymore?

A clerk # button isnt on the keyboard by default - you need to add it using a service key (SRV mode > setting > Free Key)

When you plug the black clerk key in the front, do you get a clerk number in the top right of the screen? If so is it the same number as on the key?

If you have set up from scratch then you have to setup how many clerks in service mode.. then in pgm 2 mode setting personnel go into clerks then individually setup clerks

I seem to have got around it somehow.
The clerk number did come up when the clerk key was in but it still didn't work.

So I went into Personnel programming and assigned a different clerk to the same key (I only have the one clerk key)
That did it.
Then my niece came along and pressed something (I know not what) so Clerk Not Assigned came up again!
So I assigned yet another clerk to my key and that worked again.
