Hi,

Many thanks for helping me get the software to install. Now that I have it install how do i get it to work? The manual is pretty much useless. I assume the Casio Te-100 has to be in program mode?

I connected the cable to a desktop using Windows XP via RS232 port. So here are my questions if someone would be kind enough to answer them.

1) Cash register in Program to use software?

2) How do i know if the cash register can communicate with the PC? Com1 thru 8? No difference. Says downloading on Com1 for about 30 seconds and transfers nothing when i chose to receive everything. Com2 thru 8 very fast back to the icon.

3) If i ever can connect how do i upload a logo? I get file32 not found. In the "graphic logo" icon i open up and it is greyed out to send a logo. I cannot drag a logo to the white area of the program.

I only see " Store name" , "TE100", "FILE47" in the three drop downs above with no other options.

I have created a store name and it is store001.

Appreciate any help.

Gibs

i take it you have cv10?? very easy to use.. firstly did you install cv10 to your pc or are you just running the file? it needs to be installed.. once installed goto c:cvw then run cv10 from there create a new store give it a name.. then add the type of cash register ini file ie te100.

once created itll take you to auto pgm maintenance click this one... then choose receive file (obviously pc should be connected to till)
click all on copy mode..

if its connecting it should be active on screen and on register file 1 up wards....

once it has received you can then edit it all and send it back using same functions....

make sure your port on pc is set to port 1.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. Yes i am using CV10. I tried that exactly. But nothing seems to copy. How do i know what port i am set to? Only one rs232 port on the pc. So i guess it is not communicating because nothing is copying. Additionally i cannot upload a logo.

Thanks,

Gibs

check in device manager on your pc... control panel, system then device manager check under ports.. if its a different port goto properties then advanced choose port one..

the register doesnt have to be in any specific mode it usually just connects.. might be wrong cable...

does it flash up on register about files loading???

if not then there is no connection.

might be worth while getting a usb to serial converter off ebay approx £5..

f you manage to upload the logo then you wil;l have to goto pgm 3 ( pgm 3 subtotal) PGM3 2922 Sub Total 100 Cash subtotal.

logo size has to be 384 width 168 height in pixels.. use windows paint to edit

Well i went into the device manager. I only have com1 for communications ports. It says it is working correctly. When i turn on the cash register connected with the computer i get "REG" and below that "----------" but nothing ever transfer over to the computer. Only waits about 30 seconds and says downloading "0 bytes". So i guess either the cable or the register isn't working? I will take your suggestion and try to exchange the cable for RS232 to USB.

Thanks,

Gibs

Hi,

The lines across the register's screen is doing that all the time no change when connected to the computer. I have to turn the register on and off two times after unplugging the computer to get it to go back to normal mode.

I just went out and bought another cable. Like you said i bought an rs232 to USB with the driver. That loaded fine. The computer installed the driver. I checked and it was on COM4. I set the CVW10 to COM4. Now i do not get the ------ across the register's screen. Just normal display. Nothing downloads only 0 bytes and finishes. I cannot upload the logo either. I tried receiving all info and i get:

cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE001P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE002P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE005P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE007P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE020P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE022P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE023P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE024P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE025P.TXT cannot be found
cvw\store001\TE100\program\FILE032P.TXT cannot be found

That's all. I also tried unplugging the usb and start over. Still connected on COM4, CV10 still setup on COM4. Register standard display. I tried in every position with the key also. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Gibs

Hi,

Was hoping to get a response after all these cables i am going through. Anyway I started manually setting up the register.

Though now i cannot figure out this stupid casio manual that tells you only half of what you need to know.

I want to program the logo message (top) and receipt bottom message.

Manual says:
Total for
logo + bottom msg. (1+4)

3 -> Sub Total -> 2122 Sub Total --> 5 -> 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 CA/AMT TEND --> Sub Total
D8 D7 D6 D5 D4 D3 D2 D1

Well this does absolutely nothing. A little further. The memory no. and program code for 1st line of logo message is

memory # pgm code

01 32

SO i have tried different combonations with "0132" and am getting nowhere. What D1 through D7 is I have no idea.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gibs

Where did you get the cable from?

The till uses a specific cable spec to communicate with a PC

Hi,

I didn't know it needed something special. I bought an RS232 cable, then an RS232 to USB cable. Where are you suppose to get a cable from?

Can you tell me what to enter to add a logo message and bottom receipt message?

Thanks,

Gibs
