I am looking at a CX-200 for a friend. I have experience of sharp and casio registers from years ago when I earnt a few quid as a student but not Geller.

The register spins the printer on power up from the mains however no display. I have checked timing pulse from printer and this is OK as well as checking the timing wheel is parking correctly.

I tried resetiing by setting key to L, power off and holding the C key. move the key to position P and then power on. this did not give the desired effects.

I have tried this several times and I am wondering if I am performing the sequence correctly. It would be good if anyone has any ideas. This has now become a bit of a challenge and I dont like to give up.

A circuit diagram would also be a godsend if anybody has one.

Thanks in advance.

I have changed the backup batteries as well.

Key to P, power off at wall, hold C, power on at wall, wait 5 seconds, let go of C. If successful, you should see '0' on display.

I worked this one out. By checking the interlacing signals from the keyboard to ensure the C key was truly being detected I was able to see this was OK. To do this I had to dismantle the keyboard and the key lock to trace the tracks as I had no circuit diagram.

Upon doing this I discovered grren corrossion on the key lock. Cleaning this showed that some of the tracks had been eaten away. Some tacking wire and re-plating the whole thing with solder did the trick. I know this is not as good as the gold contact but with no spares available this did the trick.

Just need to work out how to program in a detailed manner. If you have a manual on how to do this it would be useful. I have managed to set date and time OK.

Thanks for your help.
