I am trying to program a Sam4S ER-650 Default Keyboard. The unit is in a bar that supports a separate restaurant. I need to establish a two-level price structure. Keys 1-56 are already preprogrammed for the bar, using either direct input or using Key 57 (Bar Price) and any of Key 1 - 56. Key 58 is also dedicated for the Restaurant Price but the prices need to be changed. How do I do this?

create 2nd price button on keyboard and label it restaurant
set the second price on all your current plu's to the price in the restaurant
set the status on the restaurant button to be sale pop up



press the restaurant button before entering products for people in that area
dont press it for the bar - job done

Thanks for the quick reply. However, while I can troubleshoot PCs, I've never programmed any register. So, I'll need more details than that.

You gave me 5 basic steps:
1. Create 2nd price button on keyboard and label it restaurant.
Key 58 on the keyboard is already set from before.

2. Set the second price on all your current PLUs to the price in the restaurant.
Is that is what is explained on page 37 of the manual with the Price Level Key?

3. Set the status on the restaurant button to be sale pop up.
How do I do that?

4. Press the restaurant button before entering products for people in that area.
I am guessing that that means that a drink button is pressed and then the restaurant button is pushed for that level to register. Repeat for all drinks on that bill. Am I on target?

5. Don't press it for the bar. However if a drink tab is running at the bar, repeat above using the Bar key, Key 57, instead of the Restaurant Key, Key 58. Am I still on target?

i'm out of the office till monday so the definitives are a bit more difficult without access to the book
however in terms of operating the second price button,
it can be set several ways

in sale pop up mode, you only need to press it once at the start of the sale to have all the drinks within that sale to be at the second price - it will revert to first price once the sale is finalised [thats the way i thought you would need to use it - after all, 1 customer cannot be sat in the bar and the restaurante at the same time???

in item pop up, the second price is activated once - to the item that you sell directly after hitting the restaurant button

or stay down mode - once pressed all items sell at the second price until another button called bar is pressed [open to errors its better on auto.

will let u know next week re setting up the buttons - once i have access to the manuals [wifey gets touchy taking the laptop on holiday - i'd be pushing my luck with all the manualsas well!]
