I'm new to this machine, so please bear with me.

I am attempting to program a new machine, and have set up 13 departments. I am now trying to add the products w/ UPCs into the system using the Sharp Easy Programming Tool. I have gone to the PLU/UPC screen, thinking this would be the logical place to set this up, but the logic seems to dry up there. If I go to "Code," I have the option for only up to four digit numbers ranging from 1-1200. I can enter the UPC in the text field, but the ECR won't recognize that as a record when I scan in the UPC in the system. The only other fields are "unit price," "associated department assignment," "commission group number," and "SUBDEPT/PLU."

I'm sure there's an easy method to do this, but I just can't figure it out after spending all day spinning my wheels and buying a second scanner (for my laptop, since I didn't want to try to figure this out on the ECR itself.)
