ER-420M Change VAT to 20%

ive tried to rogram the Tax1 VAT to 20% i follow the instructions in the manual and have a slip print out saying

*** TAX PROGRAMMING ***
----------------------------

TAX1
VAT at 20.000%

yet when i print out a sales receipt it shows tax at 17%

any help on how to change this would be great

first thing i would do is zeroise the sales, ring up a quid then run another report
check the vat amount value if the tax content is 17p then you have set the rate at 20% IF THE VALUE IS 15P THEN YOU DID NOT CORRECTLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS:-chances are that "vat at 17.5%" is text not actually a programmed amount - especiallly as you have reprogrammed it
