Was your till set with 80 plu's on the keyboard or more? The mrs will have taken the keyboard back to its original 80 preset and also the function keys are back to mrs. Where you put the clerks was where the refund button was.
Key positions for plu's starts at 1 which is next to the TL button and works up the columns.
Do this in pgm2 mode 229 . X 'key number' X 'plu number' ST then back to 'plu number' ST and so on. TL to finish.

What I'll do is scan the image of the 3110 keyboard after the reset has been done showing the key positions. I think your machine had the keyboard rearranged when it was last programmed so it now isn't matching up with your printed keyboard sheet.
As per your other post, are you going to change the battery in the machine you're programming?

Done 229 .x 101 x 059 st tl but all the button does is bleep
To test the plu numbers I have set a plu function button and the items work fine do i need to do the 219 . X x st tl ?

That is right for the key number positions.
You still need to do the 229. So key position 79 is the position for plu1. Thus 229 . X 079 X 1 ST then keep going up thus 80 ST 90 ST. TL once you've finished.
Sorry I'm a bit rusty, it's been a while since I did 3110s and even then I used software to program them.
