Firstly I wish I had found this forum a year ago at least there appears to be helpful people here.
Down to business.
We have two Samsung ER5200 not the M versions.
I have the PC software and the link cables and have setup both tills with all our goods and prices.
I have a couple of queries which could do with some advice on.

1) Ours is a bar business and requires a "Half" key. I have programmed this to multiply the next PLU pressed by 0.5 Question .... Is this the best way to do this ?

2) We quite commonly in our function hall need to run a "Tab". I have programmed one of the keys to be a "Tab" key, basically all it does is open Clerk 10. However after about 100 items the register errors code is E23 Consol over. I've checked and it does this for any Clerk. I assumed this was a memory problem and therefore purchased and installed another memory chip. Checking the memory allocation shows that this new chip has been picked up. Howevr it's made no difference and I cannot find the option to enable me to increase the amount of items that can be entered before a CASH needs to be entered. Any advice will be much appreciated.

3) Last question for now :) I am having problems with the X and Z functions. According to the manual a Z function should total the sales and reset them to zero but not reset the running total that should only be reset with a Z2 report. I'm using 1 SUBTOTL for the Z reading and 208 SUBTOTL for the Z2. The problem is that the Z reading does not reset the sales to zero and therefore each preceding seassion shows a incrementing total. Have I got the wrong end of the stick or just being plain stupid. Again advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. :D

Firstly, the Half key you have setup is absolutely the ideal way to sell half pints in a bar enviroment. it does however normally mean you can't report on how many halfs you have sold but this is generally better anyway for stocktaking purposes.

Unfortuantely i'm struggling with your other 2 questions as I don't have a manual for this model, I'm going to try and get hold of one for you and I'll do some asking around and see if I can find anything out. If you have a copy of a manual you could email I'll gladly take a look.

The only thing I can say at this point is the 1 SUBTOTAL report in Z should definately be clearing the sales, I can't understand at this point why it's incrementing every day.

I'll see what I can find out for you in the mean time.

Kind regards

Hi,

Thanks for the manual, I've looked through and can't see any mention of the memory problem, I will ask around on this one.
As for the report then, are you saying if you do a 1 SUBTOTAL in the Z position, then immediately do a 1 SUBTOTAL in X that it hasn't cleared it back to zero?

Cheers

Yes, I'm entering sales then X'ing to get the session total. Then entering more sales and performing another X (not really required) then a Z. However if I then enter sales again then another Z it hasn't cleared the total from the previous Z therefore this latest Z is like a running total.

I'm going to go back tonight and have another play. (I'm a volunteer not paid so I have to fit this in where I can)

I'll post again tomorrow, hopefully with any more news.

Thanks

Hi,

Can you tell me exactly how you are printing these reports? I need to know the position and every key press you perform.

This is a crazy one that I'm curious to get to the bottom of. ;)

Cheers

Hi,
I sorted the X and Z readings It's a system parameter that needs to be set. I'll look it up tonight and post the details. I still hav not got to the bottom of the 100 items problem.
