Hi everyone
I work as a holding manager, which involves running pubs for (usually) a short time whilst the pub companies find someone permanent. As a result I get to work with tills of all sorts but can usually find a pdf somewhere on the web. This one has me foxed.

It is a Geller 2N. I have even emailed Geller themselves who did get back to me but could not find an on-line or paper copy, saying that the model was discontinued some years ago.
I have found a hard copy for 30 pounds or so but feel that is a little excessive.

So far we have got by as the only minor inconvenience was the fact that the date was wrong.
But when we left the pub in the hands of managers for the weekend, on our return the decimal point had moved one place to the right and a few other subtle differences. It's obvious that they turned the key to P1 instead of R and accidentally reprogrammed it !Head .
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

With Thanks

It has been suggested that I post up a photo or two:

That machine is so old that the internal backup battery has more than likely given up. Even if you program the decimal point position you would have to keep the machine connected to the mains if battery not replaced.
Is there a plate at rear of the register with a model number? 2N isn't a model as far as I'm aware

There is a plate at the rear which I assumed was the Serial Number:
No. NB 2017618

That is a serial number. Seemingly there was a 2N model by Towa but way before my time and I've been working with ecr's for 20+ years. My advice would be to upgrade.

ive been in the trade for 30 years - this is really a dinosaur [reminds me of the sigma RL102 any of you guiys remember that one? [had a barrel lock unlike this machine though]]
i have to agree that the internal battery, if original, is almost certainly shot
definitely time to upgrade [ i know this site is here to help but this till is older than most of the contributers on here!]

Well, thank you all for taking the time to reply.
I will continue my mission to communicate with this ancient beastie.
I have the till roll from the moment it happened, so may attempt some reverse engineering (let's face it, I can't make it any worse can I?)
As we are only here temporarily, I can't see our boss shelling out for a upgrade. I do have a second 2N which we use as a food till so I could swap them over.

Anyway, thanks again. I may be back again someday and will let you know if I find a solution.

Hmm. It could be a copy of so many machines. Would you mind popping the top off of it and taking some pics of the circuit boards. It might help to find the real brand of this machine. The key looks very Casio, but the buttons look quite Sanyo, haha. Circuit boards can say a lot

I did pop the top off but found nothing obvious. I will post up a couple of photos in the next day or so though and see what you think.
