Hello,

Has anyone ever encountered the 6600 till display reading "check p / b clerk" I can find no reference to it in the manual, and the error (whatever it is) prevents any till operations from being performed. I'm meant to be opening shop in a couple of hours!! Nightmare. Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like you need to sign on and that your register is set up with clerk interupt system (flag 70 bit 4=0)
If this is the case you should only need to press one of the cashier buttons (A-K) providing that the first 10 guest tracks have been programmed.
If you press button A does it flash on/off or stay on? Have you used this register before now?

Ah I've set you on the wrong path, the cashier buttons A-K exist on model MP2. You should have clerk sign on button or buttons on the 6600. Most of the programming features are similar, flag 70 etc
