Hi all..

I have a TX870.
Hope some of of you in here can answer some of these questions.

1) Is the engeenering code, the same on all TX-870 or is it set by the reseller?

2) Is it possible to "delete" a specific sale, both from the Z and X and also from the electronic journal. (like a "return" function, but without any traces ;) )

3) What do I need to connect my register to my computer?

I hope you can answer.

Cheers.

1) The engineering code is generally kept the same in my experience.

2) You clear all sales data, but cannot delete individual sales that have already been registered. There is a way to set up what's often refered to as 'secret clerk' which means any sales done under the secret clerk won't register and effect reports. If you want this you'll have to find somebody else to explain it I'm afraid - it's often used for fiddling tax.

3) Back office software is what you need. Along with a serial 8 core cable link. Total Control is a popular and effective program but these programs arn't cheap.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer mu questions.

I've read the manual. Appearently there is a function called "X/Z1-98 Electronic Journal Correction". My guess would be, that if I turn the key to X or Z1 and press 98 -> ENTER, I would be able to edit the journal, this would allow me the delete some items, right?

Could anyone PM me the standard Engeneering key please? Just for test purpose ;)

I think the EJF correction only lets you change the Clerk that's linked to that transaction, not delete or alter the figures for that transaction, but I could be wrong and getting myself mixed up with another function. I'll try to come back to you on this.

What your suggesting isn't something I've seen, and the deletion of past sales is probably not something I'd be too comfortable discussing anyway. Sorry.

EJF correction is simply an x report that displays the amount of corrections by clerk. It's a useful report to run to make sure there your staff arn't doing an abnormal amount of corrections. Error correcting of items already run through the till is one of the easiset ways dishonest staff can pocket money.

You cannot edit or delete individual sales.

It is possible to set up a secret clerk where sales are not recorded and there is a function to clear all sales data, but it would be unproffesional for me to explain how to do these.

Thanks for all the answers.

I am sorry that no one can help me. But then again, I understand.

This weekend I'll take the till and spend some hours trying to figure out how it works.

This is my last request regarding this subject.
If anyone could point me the right direction, I would be very gratefull.
Just a small hint, then it would be like solving a riddle :D

Hi,

Skiver is spot on with all he says, there is no way to 'alter' transactions as if they never happened with any of the Uniwell range. Some of the older Casio machines you could do things like that but Uniwell have always been very tight on their security and rightly so in my opinion.

Cheers

Yes. I understand now :(
But it should be possible, to create a special clerk. Who is in some kind of training/test mode all the time?
