Hi! I have recently acquired a barcode scanner. I would like to connect it to my uniwell EX560-03. In vain, i cannot find the option to change the connected device on RS232 port. I am able to connect to my pc via plm2000 which has been programmed by my dealer. I would like to save some bucks by doing it myself but i desperately need your help to accomplish this. Thank you in advance...

hi!
check your plm2000 help file,it shows the supported printer and cable configuration. if you can find the pin configuration (rs232)of your scanner much better to connect it properly...what's the model of your scanner?

Hi!
My scanner is datalogic quickscan 6000plus. I have the full documentation on the pinout. I have tested it on my pc via rs232. I have the custom cable for my ecr-pc connection for PLM2000. Now i am working on how to interface it to my scanner. Also, i have a slip printer epson tm-t88III and planning to connect it via rs232. I attempted to connect it by adopting the wiring diagram (pc-ecr cable). I tried to configure it via SF 82 - SF 87 but to no success.

Hi,

You will need to set System Flag 90 bit b (With Scanner)
You will need to change System Flag 94 to the appropriate Baudrate depending on how your scanner is configured. also on this flag you need to match the stop bits, Parity and select 7 or 8 bit data.
And finally System Flag 102 would need bit C turning off if it is currently on.

That should just about do it I would have thought.

Regards

Nemesis

Hi,

I succeeded in my scanner. My next problem is how to connect a slip printer via rs232. The closes that i have done is to activate it as journal data transfer s.f.-90d. It now prints the journal identical to the built-in journal printer. Previously, i tried the s.f.86(slip printer) setting bit a & h. to port it to channel B. but it prints garbage. I connected the output to hyperterminal program via xp for analysis, Framing error is what i get. Unlike the setting s.f. 86 setting which gives me the exact output of the journal printout. My conclusion is, s.f. 86 will not give me standard serial output. Maybe an rs485 output? I just want to activate it as serial(rs232) slip printer. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm not sure on slip printers to be honest, I'll ask around see what I can find out.
