We have just inherited a Sharp UP-3000 in the pub we are taking over. It only has one key (push in type). There used to be another key which was the 'master' and allowed all operations on the terminal but it was thrown away accidently. The only key we have now does not allow the lower three operations on the menu - they are greyed-out. We also don't have a manual which doesn't help!
We need to access all functions to change the setup on the till. Can anybody help please?

First off you'll need to put a clerk key on the keyboard and to do this you need to go into service mode. Word of warning here, don't muck about with any other settings in service mode or you may end up wiping the whole till!!
To get to service, press mode then 99999999 Enter (9 eight times). Then go to Setting and Enter, then down to 8 Free Key Layout and Enter. It will say MAIN-1 at the top, go to Setting and it will then give you a list of keys to choose from. Arrow down to 159 CLERK#, then press a free button on the main keyboard to place the clerk#. After that it's just Cancel Cancel Cancel til you're back to your main screen.
Make sure the plastic clerk key isn't in and sign on using the clerk button ie press 1 then clerk#. Keep trying different numbers until you find the managers clerk number. Once you do, you will be able to program.
If you can't get into service mode the way I said, there is another way but I don't like to say how unless I really have to (it's even easier to wipe the machine that way!).
I'll pm you too.
