IP printer setup

Postby kievari on Mon Apr 03, 2017 2:05 pm

I'm adding STAR SP700 ethernet printers to my kitchen, what is the procedure to do this? Do I need to install any drivers to the till for this?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Give it an IP address in the same range as the till, add it to ICR as an IP printer, point the KP at that address.

You'll also have to specify a connected device type in IP printers. What this will be will depend on how the printer is set, but I'd probably start with the star ones first.
How it prints and if it prints at all is very much dependent on this. :)

I've got it set to a fixed IP (tested and verified from windows pc) and set as IP printer in ICR with correct address, there is no SP700 in available printers so I've tried the Epson U210 which I have working for my kitchen serial-SP700...no avail?

What IP port number is the printer set to use? It needs to be 9100

Is the printer using Star or Epson emulation, it should tell you on the test print. There is a TSP700 option on mine, but I suspect I have a newer version than you, although I think that has been there a while.

DO NOT install any of the Star drivers........................

Where do you set this? The StarPrinterUtility doesn't have anything like this but printer is set to TCP Port-80 enabled.

The SP742 is running Star emulation. I do have a TSP700 device type but that does nothing? How do I tell that printer is setup correctly other than running a PLU assigned to that printer?

If it's in Star emulation then set it as an SP200... At least according to the ICR forum.
