Hi all,

We are having much trouble with out newly purchased TE 2400. this was purchased from the factory, with apparently no programming whatsoever (or at least, that's what we can figure out from it all).

We got the CV22 software which is failing to communicate with the till. We have a NULL modem cable, that we think is working, but we're not sure.

What we need is someone to guide us, and maybe a new cable, a CF card with an IPL if that is necessary, and with possibility of an already working DB for a bar/restaurant/guesthouse to help us putting it all on the till. If possible over the phone, but also through email.

We are located in Cambodia and there is no one around that is using cash registers.

If anyone can offer assistance, please contact me privately with a quote.

Thanks very much in advance!

Sounds like the till has not been initialized. If you are unable just ring up a normal sale. EX:
1.00, Dept 1, subtotal then CA/tend and then the drawer opens and receipt prints then you may want to do the following.

1. Set the Mode switch to OFF position.
2. While holding down the <Journal Feed>, turn the Mode switch to PGM position.
3. You should see "0000000000" on the display.
4. Enter the 11 digit code from from below

a. TE-2400 = 00000020400 if with Multi-clerks 00000020410
or
b. TE-2400 w/check tracking = 00000020420

Multi-clerk option is if you want to assign different clerk numbers.

The Till will have a factory loaded IPL in it already. If you plan on adding a kitchen printer then you may want to update the IPL.

Thanks very much for your reply!

I have followed the procedure that you described and it seemed that the till was reset because the only product I manually set for testing purposes was not there anymore.

I am trying to communicate, using various options (to received file, send files, allocate memory) with the till and all I'm getting is hyphens showing and the communication error 4506 by the end of it (sometimes other numbers). The window dialog, "Executing", stays frozen and there is no progress.

Could that be a result of a faulty cable (I am seeing that something does work because the hyphens appear) or is it only related to bad setup?

Thanks again for your reply. We will be happy to pay to you, or to anyone else that can help us get this thing going.

4506 error. Are you using a USB to Serial adapter or are you connecting directly to a serial comm1 on a desktop?

Hi Kevin,

I'm connecting directly with a null modem cable (not via USB). It does seem like something is happening (i see those hyphens), although no data goes to any direction...it takes a little bit (about a minute or sometimes two) but then the message pops up with the error.

Thanks again!

Make sure your Null Cable is connected to Comm port 1 of both PC and TE2400
Turn key to REG1
(1) Lets make sure there are no transactions pending, so hit Subtotal and the CA/Tend.

(2) Get into your "Device manager" and see what port number you are connected to. Click "Start" then Control panel, I like Classic view and you will find "Device Manager" try to find Comm 1 and just make sure all looks good. Check the baud rate while you are there.

(3) Now on your CV22 program under the ECR setup tab make sure it is the same comm port and Baud rate.

(4) Do a "Flag clear". Turn key to off, hold down "receipt Feed" key AS you turn key to PGM and then release "Receipt key". Should see FFFFFFFFFFF's on the screen of till. Press "Subtotal" If it prints out a receipt all is good. If it hangs and says anything about" Initializing for credit Failed" we need to clear Comm 1.

(5) Clearing Comm 1. Turn key to PGM, hit 3 and then "Subtotal" type in 0198 then 16 zero's 0000000000000000 then "CA/tend" then "Subtotal" turn key back to off and "Flag Clear" again.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks again for your help!

I followed the procedure, and it did print the receipt after the Flag Clear part.

When I go to the ECR and click Binary Receive I get the same Communication Error 4506

Is there any setting I need to change on the program itself? (in the ECR setup screen, maybe configure a new customer with a different IPL, or till version...)

Could this be a bad cable (I still see hyphens appearing on the till screen).

If we need a new cable, can you help us with that? (of course I will send you money first).

Thanks very much for all your help so far!

Hi again,

The till now seem to be stuck with " Sing in first " after the reset procedure. We went all over the dealer's manual and couldn't find what what to do. Do you know what we need to press in order to sign in to the till?

Thanks! also, if anyone can simply sort it all up for us so we can just load a DB and start working, and be paid, that will be really great! :)

To sign in press the number 1 and then the clerk key. and then you should see C01 on the ECR. Likewise pressing 2 and then clerk you will log in as C02. I believe to log out, you press 0 then clerk key. If you don't want this option you will have to re-initialize it again with a different code.

Is the computer you are using the CV22 on connected to Broadband internet? If so maybe we can schedule a time for me to log in remotely and take a look at settings.

We have added a Skype option to our website. If you would like to try that, just go to Casiohelp and click add as contact.

My guess at this point is a bad cable. Can you describe the cable for us? You need 9 pin female both ends. Does it say anywhere on the cable the word "Null"

Hi Kevin

It turns out we didn't have the correct pin layout for the cable. If anyone is interested, this is the correct one:

http://pinoutsguide.com/Electronics/cas ... nout.shtml

After sorting the cable out, everything else seems to be working properly.

If possible, we will sure need your guidance on how to use the software (cv22). I'll get back to you pretty soon to work out all the technical details (obviously, we also want to pay for your time!).

Thanks very much for all your help!
