I am having a problem connecting CV31 and QT6000, I am trying to connect through a Linksys gateway, I am not using a crossover cable as bovine said in another post, the terminal is being assigned an IP address via DHCP, but when I try to connect and upload files via CV31 I get a comms error

Error 235 INLINE protocol error.(TP time out).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Daymo

As standard from the box as one might say your QT6000 w3ould have an IP address of 192.168.0.1 You would have to set up a static IP on your PC with the following... 192.168.0.2 gateway 255.255.255.0 This will work through a switch or router and set your CV31 to TCP/IP on the branch setup... See how it goes and come back to me if you still have problems

Aha, that's done it!! :D

Thankyou

Is it at all possible, then, to have it in a different IP range, say 192.168.2.## ?

Hi Daymo

Yes you can change the IP set up which is as follows

Mode
Pgm-3
Machine Feature (no.1)
TCP/IP (no.30)

But if you are using CV-31 unfortantly its defaulted using the out of the box IP. so you would have to match everything else to it.

Tillman

Thanks Tillman, that was just the info I was after. I was looking everywhere in CV-31 for an IP setting (would seem logical). I could find no way to change the IP address that the CV-31 software looks to. If this is the case, how would I program and generate reports from two different QT-6000's on the same local network? I think i was reading in one of the manuals that there is a way to combine reports from two units.

I got fiddling again today but I'm having trouble connecting to the QT-6000 with CV-31 software:

VER: AANTAQ 4475
PAN Euro Ver: 2.58

My local IP is 192.168.2.6 and the QT-6000 has been set to 192.168.2.66
I can ping the device.

The Router is a NETGEAR router as specified in the PC utility manual. I'm trying to download the settings from the till to add a few items. I just purchased the software today but already i've hit a barrier. If all else fails, I may try to interface the device with a null modem serial cable.

How do i specify the network location of the ECR in the CV-31 software? And what is the MAC code (i can't ender the network mac address here...) I did enable TC/IP in the branch file but it just asked for a termainal ID (2 characters). I set mine in the ECR as "12" and matched this in the CV-31 software without joy.

- alternately: is there a way I can use the files from the back-up CF (compact Flash) card from the till directly into the CV-31 software?

any advice or suggestions would be really helpful.

All the best - Rick.

Hi Rick,

Not sure if this helps. I use CV-33 software and have a QT-6600 ECR which is similar to the QT-6000.

When I initilize the QT-6600, you have the opportunity to assign an the Terminal ID (I have only a single ECR so its "1") and the IP Address/Network mask. I specifically assign a fixed IP address for my local network as 192.168.1.30 ans subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Also need to make sure the DHCP is set to Client rather Server (unless you're using the ECR as a DHCP server instead of the Netgear router.

However, when I install the CV-33 software (after long investigation) and create a new Branch setup for TCP/IP, the default IP address is 192.168.0.1

I located the setting for this in C:\CV33\ini0\QT6600.ini at the section:

[TCP/IP]
ECR01=192.168.0.1
ECR02=192.168.0.50
ECR03=192.168.0.51
ECR04=192.168.0.52

I made a copy of the file and changed the ECR01= line to the IP address I set "ECR01=192.168.1.30", Looking at other .ini files there is one for QT6000 and is similar in content.

Once changed, this allowed the CV-33 program to communicate with the ECR.

Good luck with your problem resolution.

Cheers,
Paul.
