Hi MArk
Thanks again.

I wish you lived round the corner! The first option didn't work. I printed off the list.
I now have a list numbered 1 to 15. the codes are 0000A, 0000B, 0000C etc to 0000O.
Nothing happens when I go to REG mode and enter CLERK 0000 CLERK.

Ok. Sounds like they are either corrupt (bad backup battery), or they just need setting up, so we'll try to set them to defaults again.

turn key to X mode

1 X 0001 CLERK
2 X 0002 CLERK
and so on up to
7 X 0007 CLERK
Then press NS/# to finish

Turn key to REG and try logging in with 1 CLERK, or CLERK 1 CLERK

If you still can't log in, they may need activation.

Key to X mode

0 X 1 CLERK
0 X 2 CLERK
upto

0 X 7 CLERK
Then NS/# to finish.

Goto REG and try logging in.

Good luck :-)

Thanks again Mark.

Completed the first option. Managed to get through to 7. receipt shows that now have clerks 1 to 7, but when I press NS/# key nothing happens. When I turn key to REG it just buzzes again. Maybe buttons are not as they should be!

Layout at moment is :-
Rct Jrnl Void Vald (Blank) Rfnd (Blank)
Feed Feed

CLERK (Blank) PLU Z/X NS/# (Blank)

Is this correct?

Click (or copy/ paste) the link below to see a layout of the keyboard on our version. As far as I know this will be the same as yours.

It is common to blank out buttons that aren't normally used, but the No Sale key must be used to end programming, so it should be there. You can pop the whole button out of the key board, and put a pen down the hole to press the little contact inside if you want to test a button position.

:) Thanks for that. I have managed to locate the NS/# Key. I can now log on clerk and use NS/# to open drawer. How do I set up to do sales?

Ok, thats good news. If you can open the drawer with NS, then you are properly logged in.
Now, there are two options for programming your item buttons. PLUs (price look ups), or departments (categories).
If you want a button to have an item name and price preset to it e.g "coke 1.20" then you want PLUs.
If you want to enter the price each time you use the button (no set price or 'open price') and just have a basic category e.g "drinks" then departments are what you need. These are the most common, since most people have more items than can fit on the keyboard, so they need categories to cover the range.

Let me know which suits, and I'll get you some prog. info.

Hi Thanks again!

I just need departments, that I can enter the price myself. Can you also tell me how I can programme the clerks name to be on the receipt as well?

Ok Valerie. On this model, you cannot program clerk names. You will need to allocate a number from 1 to 7 to your staff. The receipt and journal will only print the clerk number on each sale.

I have put together a couple of programming sheets, and an alpha code list, which you will need when entering characters. Read through them, and make sure you can find the necessary buttons on the keyboard. The operating instruction page was for a particular customer, so there may be some differences, but it should give you most of what you need to know.

Hi Mark

Thanks again! When I press the X/Z button it shows E in the window and buzzes.
I tried to programme store name again as the X/Z button had been used for that, but the same thing happens when I try that. I tried checking the keyboard layout, but the link is no longer working.

The hosting site loses pages sometimes.

This should work

http://www.mediamax.com/flexion/Hosted/ ... layout.jpg

Try to save the pages to your computer (right click and save), as they will be deleted after a short time.

I just thought of something else. Sometimes the clerk doesn't turn off when you turn to prog. This must happen. the green triangle at the left of the screen should disappear when in prog mode. If it doesn't, then turn key to off. Wait 2 seconds, then turn to prog.

The X/Z button is also used for reports. Try turning the key to to X mode and press 00 X/Z. If it prints a report, then you have a working X/Z button.
