Hello

a few potential problems here

1. where did you get the serial cable from? it is not a standard pc serial cable and normally has to made up specifically
so if you didnt get it from a dealer or made it yourself then that will most likely be the problem if so you can find the correctr pinouts on one of the other post here

2. some usb to serial convertors dont work dont really know why but past experiance shows that some do and some dont

also something to keep in mind is that plm does not fully support the uk 06 till types if that is what your sx700 is

You are using the wrong cable!!!

You cant use converters or standard serial leads. Its male D9 to female D9.

Your PLM2000 should have a help file.

Goto HELP
Goto CONTENTS
Click on HOW TO SETUP

The first thing there is the cable pinouts.

If you cant make the cable yourself let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Also PLM2000 does not support all UK versions of Uniwell tills. You should be OK with the LX but if the SX is an 06 you shouldn't use it.

Hope this helps.
