I am pulling my hair out trying to source the E203v001 USB Driver for Windows 7 so i can use PC Link. I have even tried the local Sharp dealer who was very little help.

Please don't suggest the drivers that come with PC Link 1.01 because they are only Windows 2000, XP and 98. They don't work with Windows 7. I need the E203V001 driver.

Can anyone help with a link that actually works or post the driver somewhere so I can download it. All the old links here seem to be broken.

Hi,

Currently run PC Link to program clients 203/213's on Win 7, ok
The Drivers i am using were those included with the PC Link program.
Have you tried to run the program in XP compatibility mode?

We mainly use XP SP2 & 3 as our main programming platforms for this very reason.

Kind Regards
Paul

This is a free software utility so therefore what you see is what you get. I don't blame dealers for not helping with it. Why waste time giving free support to free software (ok, moan over!).
This is Sharps' solution for the Windows 7 usb driver problem from their technical website, and I quote:

'If the USB driver is not installed correctly, you must uninstall the driver first, and then uninstall the Easy Programming Tool, and reinstall the Easy Programming tool again.'

Most epos software is made to run on XP. Windows 7 isn't proven enough yet! Hence the reason I run virtual XP on the Windows 7 laptop that gets used on site visits.

Non a lot of help guys. The driver does exist because there are several old links on this website to downloads of that driver. Re the 'sharp official' help. This is what you do if the driver fails to install correctly because you have done it in the wrong order. No use if you haven't the driver. There are also people who are using windows 7 with PC Link natively not on vertual machines. How about some help to find the driver, it won't just help me it will the many with the same issue.

That's why dealers don't help with free software. It either works or it doesn't. Harsh I know.
I'll attach the usb drivers from the latest version of another Sharp program called Posutility. It connects to all models of Sharp till and is a better utility.

I think a lot of it stems from windows 7 thinking everything is a threat. Dealers just don't want to spend time on free software.
For the record it has failed to install properly a couple of times for me in 7, but I just uninstall and reinstall again and it's fine.
