Can anyone help - I have an old ER-420M and have done a memeory clear as it came form somewhere else. I have managed to give the PLUs names but I just can't set the preamble message. Date and time are fine. I have also worked out where the alpha overlay has been changed and have read the manual about all that press 40 and subtotal business but it just wont let me enter any letters. AArgh - going mad and shop open on Friday. Help, please.

don't know whay book you have read about "40 and subtotal business"
but to set the preamble message it's 700 and subtotal business - followed by 1 into xtime then alpha then subtotal then cash
