We have a Sharp ER-2590 which is very old. Yesterday my friend pulled the journal paper a little bit without press the "release",then remove the ink roller and install it back. After that I found printing faint. I changed the ink roller (IR90/91), it doesn't work. I can only read the right side of the journal and can almost read nothing on the receipts. I can see the impact marks on the paper, just no ink.
I bought a box of ink rollers(IR90/91) two and half years ago, I am afraid that the ink roller is no fresh ?

Any ideas or help much appreciated.

Hi.
That may be the problem. Make sure you can see the gear on the end of the roller turning while the printer is running. If you roll the ink roller over a piece of paper without pressing hard, it should leave some ink on the paper. If you have to press firmly for this happen, it is too dry.
