We recently opened a fast food outlet-just a small place (aka tight budget) and would like to purchase a cash register that would also print out the order for the cook.

We have a chance to purchase a ER-420 (fairly new, really cheap) but would like to ensure it will do the trick before we buy it. We're hoping that the actual receipt that prints out of the cash register can be used as the order for the kitchen.
The kitchen is in very close proximity to the cash register so we don't think we need to buy a seperate "Kitchen printer" if what the cash register spits out will do the trick?
We are currently hand writing the order/receipt, adding up the totals on a calculator, putting the money in a cash drawer, and then putting the order on the kitchen line.

We are thinking (in our dreams maybe) that we would then just have to print out a duplicate receipt for the customer.
Please help. !dunce
Thanks

Hi , there are no settings on these tills to set up kitchen printing..

there is the option of storing ordes to open checks (tables) so customer can pay after eating.. simply print them a bill of items then they pay.. storing to check will not print a kitchen copy.

other than that its just a case of they pay then print out an extra receipt and hand it to the kitchen..

Actually, our place is very "fast food" in that the customer comes to the counter, places the order, and then gets a ticket and waits for the food until we call his number. We do have tables, but the customer has already paid by the time they sit at a table.

So all we need is to ensure that this cash register is suitable to print a receipt that the cook can easily read, plus to print a receipt to give to the customer with some type of number on it so they can claim their order.

It sounds pretty basic what we want....hopefully this ER-420 will do the trick.

The Royal cash register we currently have (and thus are not using) will print a receipt, but it's not in a format that the cook can read. It's an old cash register, and just prints out the PLU in code form. Plus it doesn't have a number on it that the customer would then use to claim his order.

Your feedback and help is greatly appreciated!!

The till has a non add button. This allows you to enter upto a 16digit number which will just print as a line of txt on the receipt.

You can set this to compulsory so staff don't forget to add an order number. The default txt is # and then the number e.g.# 0000000000001050
But you can rename it so it could be Order# 0000000000001050
