Hi,

I've sent you a PM about manuals.

As for the communications, what is happening when you try to communicate? Any errors? Does the till beep at all?

Cheers

I am trying to communicate via PLM software, it appears to be trying to make the connection but after quite some time it just times out with the message ECR timeout error. I have just noticed that the version of PLM is 2.3 and it lists TX870-03-V4.0x whereas my machines identify themselves as TX870 06 V1.0; is this perhaps the problem? if so then why am I not getting any comms through TCP/IP, there is an Ethernet card, IP address is in my range, subnet mask is set and so is default gateway, any pointers anyone??? I am beginning to get frustrated, there must be a better way :-(

Hi,

A few things to check:

Are you connecting through a hub / switch or just a straight cable from PC to Till?
Are all your tills already connected via ethernet and communicating between each other or is this a new setup?
Can you ping the till from the command prompt on your PC?
Have changed the IP Address of the till or has that stayed the same? What is it?

That will help me for now :D

Thank you.

So far I am only connecting from PC and not sure the cable is the correct one (Do Uniwell have their own pin configuration or is it standard RS232)

I have not managed to get the till connected together, have tried with RJ45 but no success, also I have tried to get printers connected through RJ45 but again keep getting priner error message.

When till is connected to network I cannot ping the till from command prompt even though I have manually set the IP, subnet and default gateway. One thing strange though is in engineer mode one of the flags (can't remember which one) is to use TCP IF8 but this will not turn on, is this require to be on for TCP to work and does this rely on any other setting to be active first?

I have changed the IP from when I got it it was all zeroes, I have not changed the naming of the till it is default 888.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
G

They have their own. Somebody on here be able to provide you with that. Else I'll scan in a diagram tomorrow. Are you trying to use Ethernet or serial for the link to PC, I'm confused?

For getting the tills on IRC you still need to set SP-200 (machine ID's) and SF-45 (Use Ethernet) in addition to the IP's and MAC addresses (which you can find on the ethernet boards). If your using ethernet printers you'll need to set IPs aswell and you'll also have to set KP BASE flag in the the IP settings on the till. Usually 9100 I think?

It's important to set up SF45 before doing any programming on the till otherwise it can play about with allocated memory (SP-112 MAXIMUMS). It's important to makes sure Maximums are the same on all your tills fi they're to hold the same program.
