can anyone help a complete novice here, I have a PX5750 that all of a sudden says close the cash drawer, but the drawer is closed. it's totally stopped the machine working.

Anyone have a quick fix for me in laymans terms please, thank you in advance

There is a common fault with the px 57xx series till drawers where the micro switch arm breaks off, thus causing the till to believe that the drawer is open even when it is closed.

There is an option under system flags in the SP position that says cash drawer must be closed, at the minute this will be switched on (set to 1) to turn it off, highlight the correct line and press the enter key, then the X/Time key. This will make it so that your till will operate even with the drawer open. Nb it is advised that you do an initial reset on the till aftermaking the change to system flag.
