the battery was dead in my nx5400
i have now changed it but it obviously needs a factory reset as it is now going berzerk!
could someone please advise me as to how the reset is performed and what programming will be necessary to set it up as a basic machine

Seeing as nobody has posted anything I will give this a go.

Turn Key to SP
Type in 9901 x . (Ram clears all the data from the till)
Press Clear
Type 9906 x 5 . (this sets up the standard program for the UK)
Press Clear.

An initail reset is as follows.

Turn key to SP
Turn the till off (power)
Hold down 3 keys (goto the bottom left hand corner. Go 3 rows up, hold that button, the button next to it and the button next to that down)
Turn the till back on while holding those 3 keys down.
When you hear the 3/4 bleeps from the till till remove your fingers from the keyboard.

many thanks strato but having burned the midnight oils over the past week, i now have a fuly programmed machine.
just a couple of issues - is it possible to disable compulsory subtotal before change function [yes i thought it a funny request too] and - is it pssible to reuce the size of the x/z1 report [lose group detail just print financial detail] ?

System Function Flag 81
h = SBTL key depression compulsory before tendering amount input not compulsory
Make this flag 0 to disable.

I dont think you can make the reports that much smaller, you can take % of sales and remove tips etc but you cant remove things like groups and clerks from the Z01 report.
