I have a factory outlet which has it's own stock control system and barcode scanners for dispatching product. The problem that I have is that the operator has to scan the product to get it out of stock on the factory floor system but then has to enter the value of each item on the till. This is proving to be more difficult than it would seem and we are finding that it is impossible to balance the system to the till receipts. I can alter the factory floor system so what I would like to do is to develop a program that will retrieve the data from the scanning operation and send this on the RS232 port to the till as if it had a scanner attached to i.e. send a string with prehaps operator code, product number and value. This would be the same as if I had set the till up to read a barcode and strip out the data from it. I have developed applications with handheld scanners before but I not sure how to set the till up and what commands you would need to send to it. I have a users manual which would probably cover the setup but I don't have a programming manual. I would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction with some commands and I'm sure I could figure it out from there.

Thanks in advance
