Hello there,

I have had my Sam4s ER-420m for a few years now and at the end of the day always do a 1 subtotal and then press collect sales on the computer and it gives a detailed report on what's been sold with regards to what button has been pressed. I have recently started scanning products and unfortunately every single item that is scanned comes up on that report. Is there any way I can make it so that the VAT products total under one thing and the NON VAT products total under another?

If that makes sense..

link your products to groups or departments if not using pc set up 3 groups vat, non vat and fuel
you then need t link each poduct to the correct group

I have already done that. For example chocolate bars are in confectionary but when I do my end of day reports they still come up as individuals on the receipt.

what report number are you doing?

A number 1.

what software are you using?

I shall give it a try on Monday and get back to you.
We are using the Sampos software on the computer.

never used sampos, i know samstock - this is not free
ive just downloaded a copy of sampos and there are a few places to look:
in the "display media list" - tax1 basic tax1 sales?
config\general setup tick the "call group totals "box
under report spreadsheets, there seems to be a column to show group totals in there
[i have not actually attached a register to check the results but i'm sure you can try them out and le me know?]

Hi sorry for the long wait on the reply. Unfortunately I came to work on Monday and the scanner has broken
I have looked on the computer software for all of the options you have suggested and none of them are there
I'm thinking our version is different.
Anyway what I am going to do is test the 5 report as soon as I can scan some stuff to test it and I shall let you know the outcome.

Hi I have finally got my scanner working again. We needed a new port. Anyway I have just done a test and the 5 report does do what I wanted but the individual items still come up at the bottom of the 3 report. At the end of the day I always do an X 1 subtotal and collect sales from the computer.
With regards to what to do on the computer, none of the options you have suggested are available. I will attatch a print screen so you can see what I've got.
