I need help I don't know how to put vat 20% on certain items it's driving me mad, I cant get any sence for the manual on how to do it please help. Also how do you do promotions like 3 for 2, or a certian amount off ?????

you have an entry level till there, not a full blown epos system!
3 for 2 is called mix and match
unless you have a scanner attached, extra memory and a full plu inventory, this will not work though it is theroretically possible, i would guess that you have not set up anything other than the default memory allocation?
in which case, you are limited to 10 mix and match tables.Even fully rammed, you are limited to 100 - but this will recuce the maximum number of plus and other features!

in terms of the discount, this is not automatic, you have to place a discount button on the keyboard - %1 for instance.

follow the status programming for the % buttons in the manual - or in simpler terms, look at my answer to "automatic customer numbers" where the procedure is covered at length

yes i have a scanner and all plu are on the till, my main problem is the vat input on the till which i can not do, there is about 40 items i need to program with 20% vat but i dont know how to do this can you help!

set tax type to vat [page 78]
set tax rate 1 to 20%[page 79]
set plu status to be affected by tax rate 1 [page81/82]

what i don't get is what is says on page 79 from what i understand you put in 20 for the 20% and then all zeros? is this right also what is the tax shift button as there is not one on the till.

also after the vat percentage is assigned how do you apply to products using the scanner

well to start with, i dont know what book you have but you certainly dont go to p and enter 80! - that changes the name of the button that you press next!

2000020 into the %1 button followed by cash.

the application of tax rate 1 to a product affects N1 in the plu status programming - the exact settings depend on the rest of the status currently set.

its not for the 380 but the procedure is exactly the same - ref page 81/82 of your manual while reading it.
