Hi

I have had the 6540 till for a while now, but last week it froze and wouldn't do anything.

So far I have managed to get most of it working again by resetting, holding buttons down when switching on and all that. Also have scanner working and link to PC is sorted.

2 problems still seem to exist. When I try to use the letters for inputting PLU descriptions I just get "Operation!" come up, I can input using the 3 number codes or the PC but I used to be able to just use the specific letters which was quicker.

The other problem is the logo details don't appear on the receipt, I have input them and they come up on the printout when I check the details, but still don't want to come up on any receipts. Is there something I need to reset?

I would be grateful if anybody has any suggestions, it doesn't stop me using the till but receipts look very poor with no logo and it's frustrating that it was fully working until last week.

Thanks

to get that far, i assume that you have the manual?

you have to set the option to use the overlay descriptors ratherbthan the ascii keycodes
though on a 6540, i find the codes easier as it does not have a qwerty layout

you also need to set the receipt to print the preaqmble message, rather than the stamp
the first is under systems option table, the second under print options

Hi

Many thanks for the help.

Although I've got the manual I didn't really know where to look for those 2 problems, but sorted now. I don't understand parts of the manual and not really needed it before, but have worked out the main bits I need.

I can understand the codes may be better sometimes, but I quite often input several sizes of the same item and once i've done a couple it's easy to use the letters.

Thank you
