Firstly are they 3300`s or 3301`s

Both will say 3300 on the top of the case.

To check, either look at the silver label next to the mains flex or turn the machine upside down
A 3300 uses a BNC connector for networking (IRC) inter register communications
A3301 uses standard RJ45 connector- marked LAN

A few questions.
Are these machines new from a Box?
Have they got any program in at all?
Have they come from a site where they were already networked?
Have you ever programmed anything at all on these machines?

Its difficult to know where to start until you give us a bit of history on the machines

Regards

Bidgy

Hi Bidgy

Thanks for replied.

i have 6 machines are running in 4 stores (2,2,1,1), 3 of each model 3300 & 3301.
and they are running 1~5 years,
i'm sure some of them network before by BNC connector, but don't know which one was.
and machine copied each other by IR a few times.

BTW, i just want to try make 2 of BNC connector machines to network to share the external printers, Because...don't know why the internal printer dosen't work at all tried the settings at machine still no help.

As always i would recommend seeking proffesional help with something of this magnitude- but if your willing to give it a go - Good Luck.

Firstly you will need a BNC Cable and 2 50 Ohm Terminators

Connect the 2 machines together and connect the terminators to the ends of the T piece connectors

Next we need to set up the Network - The network architecture is similiar to a PC Server/Client network
or a Master/Slave in Sharp speak - another term used instead of Networking is IRC (Inter Register Communications)

Decide which is going to be your MASTER and which is going to be the SLAVE - a printer(s) can be attached to either or both.

The configuartion of the IRC is done in what is known as Service Mode
To enter Service Mode press the MODE button (a cyan box will appear top left)
Enter 99999999 - press enter ( 99999999 is the default password to get into service mode)
A cyan box should appear top left titled SRV MODE
If the password has been changed then you need to remove the back panel and flick the little switch (forth and back)on the main board marked RUN
Select the big grey button marked PROGRAM RESET

Firstly to setup the Slave
1. Select IRC SETUP
2) Select TERMINAL SETTING
3) Select SATELITE
4) Enter 2 as the TERMINAL NUMBER
The next options are purely my preference but may or may not be suitable for your required setup
to toggle between the settings for each line use the DECIMAL POINT key
5) CLERK SYSTEM - INDIVIDUAL
6) GLU SYSTEM - CENTRALISED
7) D-THRU SYSTEM - CENTRALISED
8. PLU STOCK SYSTEM - CENTRALISED
9) PLU SAVE FILE - EXISTS
10) OTHER SAVE FILE - EXISTS
11) BACKUP MASTER - NOT
Press ENTER after the bottom selection - a scroll bar will start to scroll across the screen - this is creating and setting up files and codes telling the machine it is in a network and is a slave.

Next the Master

As Above - but

3) Select MASTER
4) Enter 1 as the TERMINAL NUMBER
Once all the options have been set another box appears where we have to setup a list of all the connected machines in the network
5) Enter a 1 in TERMINAL NUMBER press ENTER and a 1 in MACHINE NUMBER - press ENTER
6) Enter a 2 in TERMINAL NUMBER press ENTER and a 2 in MACHINE NUMBER - press ENTER
7) Press CASH/TL
A scroll bar will start to scroll across the screen - this is creating and setting up files and codes telling the machine it is in a network and is a MASTER.

All being well you will now have to do an OPEN STORE ( Press MODE - PGM2 - OPEN STORE)

The Printer config is on page 204 of the instruction manual

GOOD LUCK - i think you may need it :)

Bidgy,

Thanks for your instruction. I think i need time to do it.

But in the main time i want to know:
1. can i connect 2 printers with 1 machine?
2. do i need to enter service mode to make internal printer work?

There are 2 RS232 ports as standard ,so yes you can have 2 printers on one machine - providing you are not using the ports to attach other peripherals.

The printers can be set up in PGM2 - Device config , but there are certain settings that can only be got at in service mode.

Never used an internal printer on those machines - to me they seemed a bit lightweight and fiddily - also an external TMT88 or equivalent would probably be cheaper.

If i remember correctly you had to set the channel number to 7 or 8 for the internal printer to work.

port 7. iirc the model type is upt80bp

And the external printers offer several advantages over the internals. If your internal printer fails, replace it with a tmt88 clone.

The best analogy i can think off is Dolly the Sheep.
She looks like a sheep - eats grass like a sheep - and bars likes a sheep , but she aint a sheep

Where as a TMT88 clone - Looks like a TMT88 - prints out like a TMT88 - and makes a noise like a TMT88 , but it aint a TMT88
