Sharp XE-A102 trouble setting up

Hi,
Could someone help me I have the sharp xe-a102 i have tried setting the till up as per the instructions but without any success.
I have tunred the key to reg, swithced on the plug, but instead of the till beeping 3 time it beeps constantly and instead of the three 0's I am getting about seven 0's someone please help
