Register keeps saying "paper empty" and will do nothing, when there is paper in it. Have tried wiping what I think is the sensor, incase of any dust. The only way I can clear it, is if the head gets lifted up then replaced, key in clear and then somtimes it works but this is happening more frequently and even doing the above it will not clear, just keeps saying paper empty. Anyone had any problems similar to this? any suggestions, it's driving me nuts!?

These are VERY reliable printers. All you normally do is replace the paper by laying it across the head, then clamp the paper holder down on top of the paper, then you must always press CLEAR (CL) to clear the paper error on the display. If it keeps failing after that, you might have a problem with the photosensor on it. If you do, then it would be the first faulty one I've ever heard of in that model.

I think there must be a problem with the sensor because we've tried doing all that, cleaning sensor etc and it works for a few times then just comes up paper empty again.
