I have inherited a TEC FS-1450. Programming this machine is easy but for some reason I cannot enter a sale. I press a number key and there is no entry on the screen.
If I press a number key and then a department I get the alarm. If I press a preset key and I get an alarm. I have read the manual but there is no mention of such a condition. There is lots of paper and there does not appear to be a jam.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi.
We don't have this model, but most TECs will hide number entry during clerk logon, so it may not have a clerk number entered.

Thanks - is there a default clerk log on? The former user does not remember having to log in to make a sale in the past

The easiest way to check if logon is required is try using the NO SALE button. If you get an error, then it probably has no clerk.
Try pressing 1 then LOG or 1000 LOG or 1111 LOG

Thanks. Don't know ow I found it but 1101 was the log-on code.

One last question; is there a way to clear the GT1 GROSS and GT2 NET totals? I want to start over from zero.

Thanks again

That's good news.
You usually can't reset GTs as they are non resettable on most machines to stop staff covering up fraud. Just ignore them and use the net total and payment figures etc.
