the time on my samsung er 4615 stays the same as when i set it how do i sort this so it displays the time correctly

I have never heard of this happening. Please tell me the exact steps you took to change it. Did it change at all on the printout? Sometimes you need to print a couple of receipts before you see the change.

thanks very much but it has sorted itself think it was maybe because it hadnt been on for a while it seems to be keeping time now

Yes, this is common. Most of them seem to lose a little time if stored. If you aren't always using it, make sure you run it at least once per month to keep the internal battery charged.
