Hello, I think youll be hearing a lot from me over the next two weeks. Im due to open a new bar in two weeks. Im a web developer by trade so have been put in charge of sorting out the tills by my business partners. Ive gone for a Uniwell system as Ive used it before whilst working for a large bar chain about 5 years ago.

Anyway, Ive bought a TX 850 which is on its way in the post. Ive had a quick read on here and relised that I have no code of any kind for it. What do I do?

Also, I have the option to buy another TX 850 which will probably have the same problem. Now to link them up to sharing one chip and pin card unit what do I need? (something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0264902125)

Lastly, do I need or perhaps want to have a PC in the office that the tills are connected to so I can run sales reports or check on staff from our office?

Hi,

Don't worry too much about the code just yet, until you have it and know how it's been setup you hopefully won't even need it. I've sent you some info to look for in a private message.

As for the chip and pin I think you would be best of looking at a completely seperate card terminal that you just use independantly from the tills, you can just rent them from someone like streamline and all you would need is a new phone line. If you wanted cards that actually linked to the tills you would have to get an epos company in to assist as you would not be able to set something like that up on your own.

A back office PC would certainly be a big bonus to have but you would obviously then need some software, again you would probably need a company to help with this as there is no free software I know of that links to uniwells with sales reports etc.

Speak to you again soon.

Regards

Nemesis
