Hi,

You will need to contact one of your local uniwell dealers to obtain the engineer code. :(

ok my problem is similar but slight differences, when i do a reset i get the 3 beeps + 1 short one but when the screen comes on i do not have the boot message instead the panel on the left starts fuzzy then wipes down and clears itself back to black, After the reset i do not get the calibration screen just straight on to the login panel, i too get numbers when trying to enter the codes not asterisk.

You said on earlier post there was possibly another solution if that one did not work, any chance of hearing it lol. I do have the engineer code.

Thanks

Matt

just had athought that did not work i tried to connect to plm and when i do a set time date the terminal beeps and says pc comm error, oh well lol

Hi Matt,

Sorry for the delay.

Yes there is another possiblilty, there are different models and different initial resets, please give this a try and let me know how you get on:

Turn to the secret position
Turn the power off
Turn the power back on and wait for the Red LED light to illuminate
When it does, within 2 seconds you need to quickly and firmly press the bottom left hand corner of the screen then the top right corner of the screen. (if you imagine the Screen divided into 4 equal quadrants, you need to press anywhere in the bottom left quadrant then anywhere in the top right)
You should hear the 3 beeps and this time get the screen calibration points A & B to press, leave for 10 seconds then turn to R wait 10 seconds and turn to SP

This may take a few attemps to get right and even when it works it may take a few correct attempts to cure it. Unfortuantely it's still not guaranteed to kick it back into lift so see how you get on and then we'll decide what to do next.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply,

Tried it but still the same result 3 beeps followed by one more except this time i get the calibration screen, i still get no boot rom message and also no fuzzy panel on the left this time.

Is it a rom problem or a machine problem, just thinking is it poss to download the rom from another till and upload to this.

im gonna try some more variations while waiting for more help lol,

Thanks matt

Hi,

It's really difficult to say without seeing it, does it beep when you press the numbers in the SP position and if so do the numbers appear on the screen?

Cheers

yes mate, it beeps and i get numbers not asterix, all the keys on the screen beep even on the default menu screen in Reg position, they go into rollover image when you touch them but just wont do anything. All the login screens give me numbers not "*"s.

The power was turned off to the till by mistake which is when it screwed up, it was only off for a couple of hours, Could the internal battery be nackered ?. Not stripped the till down yet so not sure where or what type of battery is in it.

Matt

Hi,

The battery can easily be seen in the middle of the main board when the the lid is removed, the thing to try is unplugging completely from the power, removing the battery connections for a few hours or over night (it's just one connector) then plug the battery back in and turn it back on with the initial reset you have been trying.
