ok so 2 years after the last post here - has anyone managed to access the back office to change the path of the unc server once the terminal that IS [or should i say was?] the UNC server bites the dust?

If you use something like DBFViewer to edit control.dbf you can change the path settings back to the local DATA folder and you will be able to sign onto the system and get yourself into back office mode and go from there.

Hi and many thanks for that. Its something I will try in the future, however, on this occasion, i've bitten the bullet and gone for a full re-installation.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to reply

I separated a slave once and made it a standalone Something rings a bell (quit touch first) I renamed the touchterminals.dbf and .cdx file (just in case) then restarted touch, the system then replaced both files itself, I'm pretty sure it was V8.8 at the time

the paths would need altered too, rather than point them to the master
