I am trying to program PLUs through Total Control, it lets me send the data from the ECR to the program, but when I go to send the data with the new plus to the ECR it keeps saying sending failed...

I've only seen the Total Control software package a couple of times, so don't know if I can help too much.

You said it lets you send data from the ecr to the program - Are you talking about pulling back sales reports from the till to the sotware? If you can pull the reports off then there's not a problem with cabling or comm ports.

Have you tried to send any other data? Try making a change to a clerk name (put a full stop and the end of a name) and send it down to the till. If you can send clerks sucessfully then make sure there are no odd characters in your plu decscriptions - I had a problem (years back) where someone had entered a comma into a description which caused an error because the plus file generated was a CSV (comma seperated value) file.

Hi,

So, you can collect information but when you send data you get a failed message. Have you tried just sending something simple, like the Date & Time to see if that sends without the error message.

Another problem that may cause a failed is - If you have sales registered against a plu and you then try to send a deletion command for that plu down to the till, it won't allow it (I think). The till will not allow you to delete a plu if it has sales history and this includes the Z-42 report. To fix this you need to make sure the Z-41 & Z-42 reports are taken.

Have you made a lot of changes to the till program?
When did the problem begin and was it working?
