Hi,

If you log on in X and go to report functions there is one called X-81 Full tracking report, printing that out will tell you which Clerk is currently holding that bill open. If you print it and then try logging on as that clerk and try the table again.

Hi there,

I'm almost in a position to add the second ecr now and need to make an IRC cable. Do the RJ45/D-Type adaptors have the terminators in them or do I need to add resistors to the d-types?

Cheers,

Hi,

You need to add the resistors but it depends on what you plan to use them for as to wether they are required. If they are connected together for communicating and sending changes then it will be fine without. If you plan to use floating clerks and or floating tables then I would recommend resistors.

Hi,

I'm connecting everything up this weekend and have a couple of questions. I have an ecr in the bar with a TP-832 thermal printer connected via IRC on the RJ11 port with converter. I want to install the other ecr in the restaurant with another printer (dot-matrix) that I have not purchased yet. I want to use floating tables & clerks. I also want to be able to print to any printer from any ecr. What's the best way way to cable this up and what printer would you recommend for the restaurant?

Also I'd like to get hold of a couple of sets of keys - do you know where I can get these?

Thanks again,

Paul.

Hi,

You need to stick to a Uniwell Printer to work on the IRC network so a TP822 is the best choice, they look exactly the same as your thermal receipt but are dot matrix.

As for the cabling, what has you currently used? it needs to be twin twisted cable with 4 wires and it loops between each peice of equipment, there is a diagram in one of the forum showing this. If you can't find it give me a shout.

Cheers

Hi,

I have cat6 cables between bar and restaurant. So I make just one cable that connects all ecrs and printers? If so, where do the terminators go? ECR's or printers?

I think I have read somewhere that the printers can only work on irc channel A?

How are the two printers addressed if they are on the same channel? (I want to be able to print to any printer from any ecr)

Cheers again for your help

Oh - and do you know where I can order some keys for the ecrs (and also the printer you recommend)?

Paul.

I now have the new printer. Can you advise on how to cable everything up please?

I have a tx-875 and TP832 in the bar (currently connected via IRC) and a tx-875 and TP822 in the restaurant. I have cat6 cables between the two. Do I make up one cable with resistors as per diagram below ?

If so - does it matter whether the ecrs or printers are at the termination ends?

Cheers, Paul.

IRC cabling is like a daisy chain with resistors on the ends of the chain, bassically meaning that all devices are on the same cable and all have the right resistance. This means it doesn't matter where you device are connected infact because the KP printer is often further away from the rest of the kit (being in the kitchen) it is often connected to an end.

Hi Paul,

As far as I can remember that is the idea of the Clerk Track List, it is only supposed to show the tables which that particular clerk has been working on, it's just for ease really. Like you say, the only way for other clerks to open these tables is via the table number key.
As for the logo I don't think there is any simple way to change it, there is a seperate utility for changing that logo.

Cheers

could you tell me about that utility???
