the touch screen no longer functions when the x300 fire ups, it's like it has been turned off, is there a fix for this in the back office or front office software.

Assuming you haven't deleted the sharp opos drivers in windows ce, it looks like the touch screen is damaged and the only 'fix' is a replacement touchscreen.
