Hi there. I work in an education environment and we have a few up700 machines that connect to an ITC server for meal plans. I do think that this issue may have to do with our school network but thought I'd ask in case someone may be able to help. When swiping cards the UP700 sends the data to the ITC server. Our IRC settings are all correct and have worked fine but all of a sudden they stopped communicating (going to power off when they can not make the connection). Now what I did was change the time out under the account online in pgm2 and this seemed to do the trick but after setting the time out up to 10 seconds from 5 it later did the same thing. I then had to set the time out up to 15 seconds. To clarify the connection does not take the full 10 or 15 seconds but when I up the time out it works all of a sudden. It only takes about 1 second.

What does this sound like to you guys? Network issues? ITC Server issue? Or UP700 settings.

I don't think it's the 700s. If one was doing it then possibly, but not all. They can't get viruses being ROM based (heard that excuse!). From experience, most of the time it's something to do with the network. Getting someone to admit they've changed something though is another matter! Possibly a reminder to the network administrator that the tills MUST have static IP addresses might help. I can't suggest much more without seeing the set up.
