Hi

I have a UX-45F with DDS firmware installed, so I cannot use the PLM2000 software to program the unit.
We (fire brigarde department) got the cash register from a restaurant to use it for local events and now we still see the advertisement line at the header of the receipt.

I need a DDS manual to change this line and add some other features (like linking articles to a article group e.g beer and wine to drinks; steck and sausages to food).

Does anyone have this manual or even the magic Butler software.
Any help is appreciated.

Best regards

Onki

Hi Onki,

Im sorry to say I dont believe there to be such a thing as a DDS manual.

PLM2000 will work with UX45's. You would need the correct communications lead and the till would need to have the correct settings in the system function flags to make this software work with the till.

Also other types of software would need slightly different flag settings. Nothing will work untill those settings are put in. They do not come automatically in the setup.

Also what is MAGIC BUTLER? I have been working with Uniwell tills for many many years and have never come accross such software?

Hi

I am not a specialist at all but I will try to explain the situation. We got a UX-45F from a restaurant here in Germany to be used for events of our local fire brigade.
The UX-45F has a firmware installed called DDS from a German company called DDS-Daon http://www.dds-daon.de/.
This firmware cannot be programmed using the PLM2000. The software used with this firmware is called Butler but no one has it and I am not willing to pay abouit 300 Euro for a programming once a year.

That is the current situation. Is there any way to get back to the original Uniwell firmware since we do not need the DDS specific features?

Best regadrs

Ok, can you do this for me and tell me everything that is printed out.

Turn key to SP
Type in 9902
Press the X button
Press the . button

This will tell us the true version of your till.

If you do have this DDS firmware then you have 2 choices, pay the 300 euros for someone to program it or buy a new till.

The firmware is on the till by a removable chip. This chip would need replacing to take it back to the original Uniwell version.

I firmly believe with the correct settings in the till, the correct lead that PLM2000 would work with this till even with the supposed DDS firmware.

Let me know what the 9902 said?

Hi

OK - I will check that.

In case the firmware is on a EPROM. I can get these chips and we also have a programmer.
Is this Firmware available as a HEX-file to be burned on the EPROM?

Best regards
