It still saying “IVA 12% just like before. It should be saying “IVA 13%” I think, don’t you?

Not neccessarily. The tax rate and the tax description can be programmed separately. It may say 13% but calculate at 12%.

To change the description TAX2 (IVA 12) do the following

KEY to P
508
RET
(enter word here - example IVA 13)
CHECK STUB

This is my first post in the forum - it looks like this topic should be simple, but I have followed the steps in the manual for changing the VAT to 20% (I willl be on hols when the change happens and would like to leave clear instructions for the lads to update the till), and followed the example on this thread to alter the VAT, but I cannot override the current rate of 17.5%. Does the till have some kind of override that needs to be disabled before this change to 20% can be made?

Kind regards

Rob

I've now screwed about with the till so much, it is adding the VAT to the amount I punch in, rather than including the VAT with the figure punched in...... I feel that the till has the upperhand at the moment!

Hi Rob

My first post on how to change rate is correct for vat rate 1

You can program tax on register as either vat or add-on-tax

11
chg
21000
total

The first digit 1 signifies tax rate 1
The second digit 1 signifies that vat is applied (not add-on)

What you may have done-if the second digit entered was zero it would program 'add on tax' mode (use only if selling price is net of vat)
Also there are 4 tax rates 1-4
Are you sure that your register has rate 1 as 17.5%. If 17.5% is set on tax 2 you would need to start programming as 21

Hope I'm not clouding the issue

Vat rate change to 20%

enter 20000 (not 21000 as on my previous post)
